Two Door Cinema Club - Undercover Martyn

Two Door Cinema Club - Undercover Martyn Taking a guitar hook from turn of the millennia Balearic house, adding some 20 BPMs to the tempo and using a subtle bass that’s difficult to take seriously once you’ve noticed it, suggests disaster. Things have gone wrong you think. Interestingly they may not have.

It would be difficult to go out of your way and say there are aspects of Two Door Cinema Club's 'Undercover Martyn' that you love, save for the development of its melancholic vibe in the last half of the track. But there’s something that makes it remarkably difficult to hate the thing too. With their vocals nodding to Hot Chip and boasting a sound befitting this era of hybrid, post nu-rave indie electro acts they should do pretty well out of it too.
