New Young Pony Club - Chaos

'Chaos' heralds the glorious return of sassy London four piece 'New Young Pony Club, whose second album, 'The Optimist', hits your iPod from March.

Their second single is a return to form following melancholic previous offering, 'Lost The Girl'. The newly peroxided Tahita Bulmer ironically speak-sings “We like a little chaos” in her trademark laid-back style, while the song layers up from an off-beat bass riff and sparse percussion to a lushly orchestrated chorus with stacks of vocals.

Remix wise, there is something for everyone with versions from Melé, Rory Philips and Dekker & Johan; most surprising is the foot-stomping, synthless re-imagining (or 'South Wales Swamp Mix') from the Manic Street Preachers, which works amazingly well, demonstrating the strength of 'Chaos' in the face of the most extreme of musical makeovers.
