Josh Kumra brings a tantric level of measurement and subtlety to his music. His songs are under his control at every moment without ever feeling stifled; that's why he's a breath of fresh air in an increasingly polluted environment.
'Waiting for You' is Josh at the peak of his powers, rolling on to a natural, persistent beat. Even the guitar is understated throughout the three minutes, which lets Josh's mature vocal lead the way. The tribal backing makes it feel like a march with a purpose and it's a powerful listen.
If there's one criticism of the song, it's that it makes the wait for his debut album that bit more agonising.
Best lyric: 'Might never be who you want me to be / Might never see you again / Please don't turn away from me now...'
