Deadmau5 - Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff (feat Rob Swine)
The en vogue producer has chosen here to place himself in the rather dated Prydz school of electro-house.
Those with ears will have heard this track doing the advert and airplay rounds of late - Canadian producer Deadmau5, perhaps most noted for his uninspiring techno-meets-house productions, appears to be moving away from the scene where he made his name.
Instead, the en vogue producer has chosen here to place himself in the rather dated Prydz school of electro-house. A filthy, lunging bass line is probably the best thing about the track, but positioned underneath cheap string stabs and a rather basic electro harmony it offers little to discerning listeners.
No doubt the kids at the trendier nightspots will be getting down to this at some point in the coming months. But anyone with an ounce of interest or pride in the (proper) UK club scene following its return to the pre-millennial position of relatively underground sub-culture should know what's going on here. Did someone say cashing in? Thought so.
