Twisted Wheel - We Are Us

A decent tune, but one that's probably best served over a pint of Stella in your back garden before the football is about to start on TV.

Twisted Wheel - We Are Us

Yet another band to shoot off the assembly line at the Manchester Band Factory, Twisted Wheel are about to release their debut album, encapsulated by whispers of serious potential. But it seems like a disenchanted employee on the assembly line chucked too much Oasis into the mix, cause this has Liam and Noel stamped into it, grubby sole print 'n' all.

That's not to say 'We Are Us' is bad though; it's got a knack for reaching the required level of catchiness for the song to form a beautiful co-habiting relationship with your brain in your head, and the rawness of the guitar adds a real edge to the song. Too much Oasis influence usually means a bit too much 'lad' in the song however, and in this case this rings pretty true, with simple, tribal-like rhythms and hints of gritty incoherence in the vocal bellowing. A decent tune, but one that's probably best served over a pint of Stella in your back garden before the football is about to start on TV.
