It's been a long time coming, but The Subways return just in time for the lucrative festival season. And despite the breakdown of guitarist Billy Lunn and bassist Charlotte Cooper's intimate relationship, the three-piece have come back stronger than ever.

'Alright' sparkles from start to finish. It is punchy and bright - dare I whisper the much touted words of 'summer anthem'? Lunn and Cooper's lead and backing vocals trade off each other as if they were still happily engaged, with the feminine backing vocals giving the ballsy song a real poppy sheen. The pre-chorus/chorus combination makes the song, and despite offering nothing groundbreaking, this is a solid return to form.
