The Long Blondes - Guilt

The Long Blondes - Guilt In a time of Kate Nash-ites who choose to talk rather than sing, it is refreshing to hear a female vocalist who isn't afraid to exercise the old vocal cords. And this is precisely what Kate Jackson does to great effect in 'Guilt', which marks the second release from The Long Blondes' latest album 'Couples'.

This is straight up dancing music - the rhythmic guitars supply the melody and the drumming inspires the swinging hips, both building up to the archetypal catchy chorus. Nothing outstanding, nothing brilliant, but it is simple, wholesome, toe-tapping music. The lyrical content surmises over blurry post night-out events, and with its dance floor potential, 'Guilt' would be a perfect soundtrack for a night on the town.
