The Blood Arm - Angela

It's occasionally difficult to define genres in a musical climate which so loves to blend the lines. The Blood Arm's new single sounds a lot like the mainstream indie, however it also sounds like acts such as Mr Hudson and The Library who are, for want of a better word, a UK R'n'B act.

The song is fun, upbeat, well arranged and professionally executed. You've got your up-strummed guitar, you've got your sing-along moments, and you've got your slow-building finale. It sticks to a formula, yes, but it also throws in a couple of curved balls such as the plodding piano-based intro. The Blood Arm are a fun band, and 'Angela' is slow to start - once it gets moving it'll be stuck in your head whether you like it or not.
