Shiny Toy Guns are following up their recent debut album release with a new single. Selecting the album opener 'You Are The One', they must also be hoping to open the world to a track that isn't 'Le Disko', their most famous song.
'You Are The One' is a classic example of Shiny Toy Guns' music. Driven mostly by synths, it is electronic disco pop with a touch of drama akin to Evanescence. In fact, this track is so similar in style to 'Bring Me To Life' that some may mistake 'You Are The One' for a new track from the rock band. The male and female vocals work well against each other in much the same way as Evanescence - only they are not going for the same drama, tending to stick to the pop side of the border.
This is a good, quite anthemic even, song even if it is nothing groundbreaking. A perfect example of what Shiny Toy Guns have to offer.
