Seeland - Library

A great track, from the plinky plonky opening right through as it drifts along almost whimsically without ever troubling to break out of its gentle pace.

Seeland - Library

From the mean streets of Birmingham come Seeland, a three piece indie-outfit who, if their music is anything to go by, must be a fairly relaxed bunch. To invoke a great big cliche, 'Library' is laidback to the point of being horizontal.

Working very much in Seeland's favour is a musical resemblance to Super Furry Animals. In fact, if one was to wander blindly into reviewing this song without a bit of background research (perish the thought!), you could be forgiven for thinking they had convinced Gruff Rhys to provide guest vocals.

To just call Seeland indie though would be a bit limiting considering their clear electronica influences. I'd even venture as far as to say there's a hint of Beach Boys about them. 'Library' is a great track, from the plinky plonky opening right through as it drifts along almost whimsically without ever troubling to break out of its gentle pace. Great stuff. Look out Super Furries, there's a new Brummie band that want your easygoing mantle.
