Scouting For Girls - Elvis Ain’t Dead
This could have been a reasonable attempt at pop, but the band's short attention span and lack of lyrical skill cripples it from the off.

The latest offering from Scouting For Girls is predictable in that it is packed full of energy and yet again sounds like a rip off of ELO's 'Mr Blue Sky'. The track is effectively a series of loops, each one consisting of a short chord progression and and a repeated phrase either "I wish it was me you chose", "You me, and maybe we weren't meant to be" or "Elvis ain't dead and you're coming back". This endless repetition is tiring and disorientating and makes you feel as if you are stuck on the tea cup ride at the fair whilst feeling a little sick. In a similar vein the lyrical fulcrum "Elvis ain't dead" seems completely irrelevant to the rest of the song, appearing to be nothing more than a badly constructed attempt to add interest - unfortunately it doesn't.
