Le Reno Amps -  Poison Letter

Categorising Le Reno Amps' sound can prove quite difficult. Are they alt-country? Are they indie-blues? Are they power-pop? Are they punk-blues? Whichever category you choose to place them in, it's a simple fact that there's something missing musically.

Lead singer Scott Maples voice is nasal, flat and slightly annoying, and whilst the playing is tight, it, along with the lyrics, are instantly forgettable. There is nothing here to distinguish Le Reno Amps from the vast glut of other middle of the road dad-rock bands doing the rounds at the moment.

Hope comes from the ability to knock out a decent three piece Beatles-esque harmony, but unfortunately that's about it. Probably best to look elsewhere.
