Johnny Foreigner - Feels Like Summer

Johnny Foreigner's blink-and-you'll-miss-it single (clocking in at a mere one minute and fifty four seconds), heralds their return and forthcoming album 'Grace And The Bigger Picture'. To avoid falling into the typical summer song cliches, they've taken it one step further and written a song about summer songs instead, which cleverly consists of them repeating the word "summer" as frequently as is humanly possible in the time allocated, which turns out to be 28 summers in total (I counted).

Bursting onto the scene with some frenzied chanting, feedbacky guitars immediately lasso your attention, drowning out the characteristically low-in-the-mix yelping male lead vocals and female, pseudo-American backing. It's a boisterous, punky little number following the typical frantic, sloppy Johnny Foreigner brief and would sit nicely on your summer festival mixtape, but it's too brief and superficial to make it on to next year's playlists.
