At 3.50am on July 31st 1917, the third major battle of Ypres began in France at Passchendaele, lasting until November of the same year. History lesson over. GoodBooks' fourth release is a cleverly written bombardment of brass, delayed guitars and other assorted strange noises.
With an album out on July 30th, 'Control', GoodBooks will be hoping that this single can catch the attention of the listening public. The song has radio hit written all over it, and producer Dan Grech-Marguerat has done a very good job on making the song easy to absorb.
Despite the lyrical message, the music is lively; as a taster for their forthcoming album it leaves a desire for more, and a visit to Myspace to find further material is essential.
