Darker My Love - Talking Words

From the get-go, 'Talking Words' is an infectious song full of fuzzy guitars, that cuts through the indie fog to deliver a powerful dose of psychedelic tinged rock. Darker My Love have a sound that evokes Oasis back when they were good and relevant, and didn't have to keep making silly comments in the media to get noticed, mixed with some Jefferson Airplane. It feels like a summer song, probably because the band hail from Los Angeles, so while we might all be freezing our unmentionables off at the moment, 'Talking Words' will allow you to envision a sunnier place.

Although 'Pale Sun' is a weaker bonus track that doesn't really add anything to the single, it certainly doesn't detract from it either. Now that Grandaddy are sadly defunct, the world needs some more sun-flecked rock and I for one look forward to hearing more from Darker My Love.
