Updated: Nicki Minaj's label has denied that it will be released on Nov. 28. We'll keep you updated.
Apparently, Nicki Minaj has confirmed the official release date for her third album after weeks of teasing and twerking. The Pinkprint will be released on November 28, giving her a prime release slot in the run-up to Christmas.
The November release date puts it in a similar release window to her debut album, Pink Friday, which has sold over 4m copies worldwide since it was released in 2010. Her second album was released in April 2012, but it suffered softer sales compared to her debut, so it looks like the label is hoping to boost its profile.
"I wanted to be like Jay Z," she told Billboard.
"I felt like, with what I'm doing, I want female rappers to be able to pattern themselves with what I’ve done one day."
The only confirmed tracks so far are 'Anaconda', 'Pills n Potions' and 'Lookin' Ass'. Nicki's expected to confirm the full tracklisting in the next few weeks.
