Flopstars Natalia Kills and Willy Moon have been fired from The X Factor New Zealand after bullying finalist Joel Irvine live on air.
The whole controversy kicked off after Joel's performance in Sunday night's live show. Natalia slammed his cover as "disgusting" and "atrocious" before suggesting that Joel had ripped off Willy by wearing a suit and too much hair gel. Not one to let his Z-list wife upstage him, Willy weighed in with his own derivative rant and compared Joel to Norman Bates.
You're probably reading this and thinking to yourself, 'But Natalia is just a bargain basement version of Lady Gaga and Willy Moon is terrible.' And you're right, they are just cheap imitations of bigger and better popstars. Unfortunately for them, this is probably the moment that will kill their already terminal careers with extreme prejudice.
MediaWorks' Mark Weldon released a statement condemning their unprofessional behaviour and confirmed that they had been sacked: "Last night on X Factor both Kills and Moon made comments that were completely unacceptable. While the judges on X Factor are expected to provide critiques of the performances, we will not tolerate such destructive tirades from any of the judges," he said.
"Contestants put their all into this competition and they should expect to receive feedback and criticism that is professional and constructive. We no longer have confidence that Kills and Moon are the right people to perform the role of X Factor judges and they will leave the show, effective immediately."
X Factor judge Melanie Blatt had nothing positive to say about her former judges, branding Natalia a "twat" and becoming a hero in the process.
