X Factor UK disco week: who went home tonight?

Sam Callahan had been hot favourite to leave The X Factor this evening, but it was Kingsland Road who lost their place in the ITV show. The boys are the fourth act to leave the competition.

Kingsland Road and Tamera Foster were revealed to be in the bottom two despite mainly positive reviews from Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh before. Gary and Nicole were shocked by the result.

Kingsland Road performed first with their version of James Morrison's 'I Won't Let You Go', while Tamera gave an emotional performance of Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing'.

When Dermot asked the judges for their decisions, Nicole Scherzinger praised Kingsland Road's energy, but she chose to save her own act. Gary Barlow told Dermot the result was a shocker before adding, "the public got this wrong tonight." He chose to save Kingsland Road. Their mentor also pleaded with the public to remember that this is a singing competition, a jibe pointed squarely at Sam Callahan after his appalling performance of 'Relight My Fire.'

Sharon and Louis both chose to save Tamera and prevented a deadlock, which meant that the boyband were instantly sent home.

Are you happy with the result? Are you baffled that Sam is still in the competition?
