Batten down the hatches: Sharon Osbourne is returning to The X Factor for the show's tenth series.
There's been a lot of discussion over the judging panel for the show after a lackluster ninth series, which saw viewership eroding over its run. Simon Cowell was determined to bring her back as the panel faced criticism for being "boring".
Sharon's £2million deal will make her the show's highest paid judge in the UK show's history, but Simon is confident that the booking will reinvigorate his show for such a landmark series.
A show insider revealed: "Sharon will be an X Factor judge and it is only a matter of days before the deal is finalised. She is being paid a hefty sum of £2million as Cowell is desperate to have her on the show.
"She is also expecting to earn half a million more in book and publishing deals. There is no way she would turn down such a well-paid job."
Simon is looking to shake up the judging panel, which received heavy criticism last year. Fans and critics honed in on Tulisa Contostavlos' lack of interest and the Sony mogul has decided not to ask her back for a third series.
Louis Walsh has been asked back on the proviso that Sharon would return. The show's producers weren't keen on signing Louis for another year unless Sharon could be involved; both judges had a love-hate relationship which often translated into some of the show's most defining moments.
Nicole Scherzinger has asked for a salary increase to £1.5 million to return and show bosses are eager to have her back for another series. Gary Barlow will return as 'head judge'.
Are you glad Sharon's returning to The X Factor? Will you be watching the show's tenth run? Or are you officially tuned out?
