SXSW keeps getting bigger. Music legend Prince has just been confirmed to bring the festival to a close this weekend.
Prince will perform in front of 250 contest winners, who will also get to meet the Purple Rain singer afterwards. His appearance will be sponsored by technology giant Samsung and only those with Galaxy phones will be eligible for entry at the event.
He will reportedly appear with a 21-piece band on the night, playing through a mix of classic and new hits from his back catalogue.
"Prince is a legend and true creative and musical genius who has been pushing the boundaries of music for more than 35 years," Samsung's Chief Marketing Officer Todd Pendleton told Mashable.
"Having Prince in Austin at his first SXSW show will truly be a one-night-only experience that our Samsung Galaxy owners and friends will remember for years to come."
SXSW 2013 will feature performances from Depeche Mode, Justin Timberlake, Green Day, Kodaline and Dave Grohl's Sound City Players.
