Rihanna, Chris Brown collaborate on remixes

The most controversial couple in music has reunited for two collaborations.

Rihanna and Chris Brown, who split in 2009 after he physically assaulted her on the evening of the Grammy Awards, have worked together on two tracks.

Brown and Rihanna took to Twitter last night to officially announce their tracks as they sent them out into the world via ZShare.

The first track the pair unveiled was 'Birthday Cake', a song that appears on Rihanna's sixth studio album 'Talk That Talk'. Rumours had been circulating online that they were working together on a remix of 'Birthday Cake' in honour of the Barbadian singer's birthday.

Rihanna and Chris Brown's remix of 'Birthday Cake' is below.

Brown had originally tweeted Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday. Brown wrote: "Cake, cake cake!" and then uploaded a link to the pair's remix of 'Birthday Cake'.

Rihanna responded to Brown on Twitter: "'Turn up the music' remix."
