Britney Spears fans can expect her "surprising" eighth album in time for Christmas 2013. The 'Scream & Shout' singer confirmed that her new LP would be released by the end of the year.
Britney confirmed that William Orbit would be one of the producers, admitting that she wants to make it "different" to anything she's released up to this point. So that probably means no more heavy-handed electronic beats that have dogged her last few releases.
"It's definitely at the beginning stage right now. I want to make it a little different from anything I've ever done," she told Ryan Seacreast.
"I think William Orbit is coming into town for me to work with next week. I've never worked with him before, so I'm so excited."
Britney also revealed that Voice coach Will.i.am has brought some interesting new styles to her over the past couple of months, including a more guitar-led sound that will "surprise" people.
"Will has some really interesting tracks. There's a lot of guitar. I think people will be surprised."
Ryan also asked if she'd be releasing the record this year, to which Britney promptly replied: "By the end of the year, yeah."
Britney unveiled her contribution to the Smurfs 2 soundtrack, a song called 'Ooh La La,' on Ryan's show yesterday.
