Maximo Park To Soundtrack Silent Film From 1928

Maximo Park have recently been working on the soundtrack for an old silent film called 'The Man Who Laughs', which was made in 1928.

They'll be playing it live in a special event organised by one of their friends at the Star and Shadow cinema in Newcastle on behalf of the Northern Lights Film festival on 4th May.

"It's a great film and we hope to keep up with its ever-changing moods in a live performance," frontman Paul says. "There won't be much actual singing, which means I'll be playing guitar. That's just one small way in which we've altered our style for the film."

He goes on to say that the band have "come up with enough music to fill three albums," although "those albums would feature a lot more drone and weirdness than you're used to hearing from us!"

They'll start playing at 7.30pm, and tickets are available from nlff.co.uk.
