Madonna may not be able to return to Russia for quite some time. A Russian court has said there is enough evidence to slap the 'Masterpiece' singer with a lawsuit after she endorsed equal rights in the country.
Madonna is never one to shy away from controversy and she took umbrage with the city's ban on gay pride parades. As a reaction to the move, she handed out anti-homophobia wristbands to fans during a concert in St. Petersburg, with the singer demanding they "fight for the right to be free".
Lawyers started circling in the city soon after to bring Madonna to justice for promoting the "propagation of homosexuality". The lawsuit has somehow grown to a £6.5m action for "influencing children as young as 12" and supporting the "gay lifestyle".
Between the lawsuit and being branded a "moralising slut" by Russian politician Dmitry Rogozin, Madonna may just have to stay away from the country for the foreseeable future.
