Jake Bugg bags UK album no. 1 & Bat for Lashes haunts the top ten

Critical darling Jake Bugg has bagged his first UK album number one this week with self-titled debut 'Jake Bugg'.

The 18-year-old Nottingham lad has beaten out the competition by a comfortable margin to kick Mumford & Sons' 'Babel' into the number two spot.

Leona Lewis misses out on her third consecutive number one album, but new record 'Glassheart' manages a respectable third place finish.

"Glassheart is an album I’ve poured my heart and soul into. It’s raw, emotional and progressive. I’m so proud of this record”.

Natasha Khan earns another UK top ten with third album 'The Haunted Man' at six. Khan's haunting record was pipped to the post by Rebecca Ferguson's cash-in pointless 'deluxe' re-release of 'Heaven'.

In a surprise return to form, Art Garfunkel achieves his first UK top 10 album in 32 years as new compilation The Singer comes in at Number 10.

The Official UK Album Chart Top 10 is as follows:

1. Jake Bugg: 'Jake Bugg'
2. Mumford & Sons: 'Babel'
3. Leona Lewis: 'Glassheart'
4. Muse: 'The 2nd Law'
5. Rebecca Ferguson: 'Heaven'
6. Bat for Lashes: 'The Haunted Man'
7. Ellie Goulding: 'Halcyon'
8. P!nk: 'The Truth About Love'
9. Emeli Sandé: 'Our Version of Events'
10. Art Garfunkel: 'The Singer'
