It’s alright: East 17’s Brian Harvey goes to 10 Downing Street to shout at the government
David Cameron didn't ask him to stay another day this time
File this news story under weird and wonderful: former East 17 frontman Brian Harvey was seen outside Downing Street today ranting about the government stealing his money.
Brian's been sort of missing in action since East 17 reformed, split, reformed again with new people and split again, but he reappeared outside Number 10 Downing Street at 1:50pm with a binder full of evidence that the British government has been taking his money – including most of his royalties from his East 17 days.
A spokesman told the Independent: "There was a minor disturbance outside the gates. Officers spoke to a man there – there were no arrests."
One witness overheard an officer telling him: "Don't you worry 'cause it's alright. Don't you worry, child of the night... Alright, alright, everything's gonna be alright." (Disclaimer: That may or may not have happened, so we'll leave the word 'allegedly' here like the DM usually does.)
If ever there were an appropriate time for this Alan Partridge clip, it's now. (There's no suggestion that Brian was on drugs, obviously.)
