Dannii Minogue has spoken out on Sharon Osborne's return to The X Factor.

She told The Mirror that she's been reading about the new line-up, which brings Sharon back to the panel for the first time since 2007, and that the audience will decide whether the change is right for the show.

She told the paper: "I read they are going back to the original auditions and Sharon Osbourne is coming back. That's risky. Either people will go, 'We have moved on' or go, 'Amazing'. I won't be watching, I haven't watched any of the shows since I left."

"I think Louis will have fun with Sharon. The audience decide if they like the lineup. Simon has always been ballsy to make those kind of decisions.

"When he moved it to the big live audience I was like, 'Are you kidding? You think this will work?', and he said, 'Absolutely.' And it did. He has always said you have to keep these shows evolving otherwise they will die."

Dannii went on to praise Simon Cowell for his intuition and help in reinvigorating her career: "He is amazing and I learnt so much from him on that show. It put me in a really good place for working on Australia's Got Talent and it changed my whole career around.

"I had never thought I want to be a judge, it isn't something you can plan to do."

Dannii left the show at the end of series seven after leading Matt Cardle to victory.
