Classic Sega soundtracks are coming to vinyl later this year
Streets of Rage and Shenmue will be released by Data Discs in autumn
If you're a fan of classic video game soundtracks, Christmas is coming early this year. A new record company called Data Discs is set to remaster the soundtracks for Streets of Rage and Shenmue and release them on vinyl in September.
Data Discs said: "We specialise in remastering audio from classic games, along with carefully selected modern titles, and releasing them as beautiful pieces of wax.
"Our aim is to showcase the creativity of game composers and bring their often overlooked works to audiences both new and old."
Streets of Rage was released on the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis, depending on where you live) in 1991. Its acclaimed soundtrack was composed by musician Yuzo Koshiro.
Both vinyl packages will be released with the original game art.
