Blur headlining Olympics 2012 show in Hyde Park

The good news just keeps on coming for Blur fans. Blur are to headline a show in Hyde Park, London, for the closing of the summer's 2012 Olympic Games.

The announcement came via Blur's Facebook page.

"We're rowing in, going for gold, grabbing the baton, for the high jump. No, hang on, is that right? Fact is, Blur have accepted the invite to headline the Olympics' Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on 12th August."

The show is just one of a series of events happening to mark the Olympic Games 2012. Tickets are available from 9am (GMT) on Friday 24th February, but you can pre-register here.

New Order and Blur are just two of the acts performing at the 'Best of British' event in Hyde Park.

Blur will perform for 11 minutes this evening at the Brit Awards 2012, where they will collect the award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Music'.

The band recently performed new track 'Under the Westway' during a War Child charity performance.
