Adele cut short at the Brit Awards 2012

Adele emerged victorious again at the Brit Awards 2012 ceremony in London, but was cut-off before she could finish her acceptance speech.

Host James Corden was forced to stop the 'Someone Like You' singer during her acceptance speech for MasterCard British Album of the Year. She also won best British female.

In anger at the decision, Adele went down in the annals of Brit Awards history by flipping the middle finger to the broadcast's producers that cut her off.

"I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but the suits offended me," she said.

James Corden had interrupted her speech, saying "I am so sorry and I can't believe I'm about to cut you off. I'm so sorry."

The Gavin & Stacey star has subsequently spoken of his embarrassment at the incident: "I was having the best night of my life, but then I had to cut Adele off before she had a chance to say thank you - she's the biggest star in the world."
