The Who Answer Fans’ Questions

The Who attended the premiere of a new DVD to celebrate their career, and stayed behind to answer fan's questions.

Surviving members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend were joined by family members of the late John Entwistle and Keith Moon at the Odeon Kensington on 5th November. Also present were The Who's long-term live keyboardist John 'Rabbit' Bundrick.

After the screening of the documentary, which was directed by Paul Crowder, Townshend and Daltrey remained to answer fans' questions, put to them by Jeremy Clarkson.

When asked what The Who's future plans were, Townshend replied: "We don't really have any plans for the future. We're faced with a load of things we could do. We could play Vegas, do a rock 'n' roll tour, or an Unplugged-type event."

Daltrey added: "It depends whether we feel we've got something to say." He then went on to tell the crowd about the outfit he wore at the band's legendary Isle Of Wight festival performance in 1970, made by a friend: "He used to make leather sofas and decided to make me a suit. It was like a giant chamois leather."

Townshend was forced to correct a fan who thought 2009 would be the 40th anniversary of 'Quadrophenia': "He means Tommy. But aren’t 40th anniversaries for people like TS Eliot? There were 20 years when The Who didn’t do anything, so anniversaries don’t work for us."

'Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who' contains never-seen before footage and interviews, and is out on DVD now.

In other news, The Who launched their new website www.thewho.com. Technophobic Daltrey gives fans the following welcoming message: "I feel about as useful as a pork chop in a synagogue with all this Internet bollocks...

As you may have gathered I'm not a big fan of it...

I hope you enjoy it. But do me a favour; leave the screen turned off sometimes. Go out. Get a life."
