LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has revealed he is forming a new band.

Murphy formed the collective with his LCD Soundsystem bandmate Pat Mahoney, plus Paul Sprangers and Scott Wells, formerly of Hockey Night. The singer and producer told NME.com that the four of them are a "rock band", and that the new material would be released on his DFA Records next year: "There's this rock band [I'm in], arguing about what name they are. They're from Minneapolis.

"We've gone back and forth for months, there's no way to say [what the band name is]. Pat and I are the drummer and the bass player [respectively]."

LCD Soundsystem released their last album, 'Sound Of Silver', in 2007.
