Alessi's Ark helpfully did our job for us by interviewing her friends Treetop Flyers this week - read it here.Having released her acclaimed debut album 'Notes From The Treehouse' this year, the folk singer recently joined Treetop Flyers as special guest at their EP launch gig.
The band took the time to interview Alessi for us - here are the results!
Treetop Flyers: If you could either fly or breath under water at any depth which would you choose and why?
Alessi: Hmmmm, both would be wonderful. Today, I'll take a pair of wings. It'd be amazing to see the world from bird eyes.
TTF: If while travelling on a packed bus you notice an old lady and a pregnant women board the bus, which one do you offer your seat too?
Alessi: All ladies come first. I'd try squeezing them on the same seat.
TTF: If you could form a supergroup and you could have anyone you wanted who would be in your band?
Alessi: Neil Young, Jake Bellows, The Flyers, Erika Wennerstrom and Townes Van Zandt. We'd never be able to fit in a van!
TTF: Fruit on a pizza? Yes or no?
Alessi: Sure. Depends on the fruit I suppose. Why is it that pineapple is always the only option?
TTF: Why Ark?
Alessi: Everyone's welcome one by one.
TTF: Which one of your songs is your favourite and why?
Alessi: I think it changes. Right now, I'm excited about 'The Bird' Song. But off of the album, 'The Dog' is special to me.
TTF: What is your favourite song by someone else at the moment?
Alessi: Yesterday it was 'To Be Still' by Alela Diane and today it is 'All Of My Loving' by Valley Lodge.
TTF: What are the top three songs that you wish you had written?
Alessi: Oh man! That's a tough one... 'Comes A Time' by Neil Young, 'I'll Be Here In The Morning' by Townes Van Zandt and 'Hold Your Head High' by The Heartless Bastards'.
TTF: If you could be any cartoon character who would you be and why?
Alessi: Bernard from The Rescuers.
TTF: If you could never drink tea again or never eat toast again which would it be?
Alessi: Toast.
TTF: If you were a child and you could choose your first word what would it be?
Alessi: Hug.
TTF: What is your favourite colour?
Alessi: I've got two that tie - purple and green.
TTF: Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Alessi: Dog.
TTF: If Hitler and Ghandi had a thumb war who would win?
Alessi: Ghandi.
TTF: If you were on death row what would your last meal be?
Alessi: Porridge, moussaka and then apple crumble with custard.
TTF: If your house was on fire and you could only take one possession what would it be?
Alessi: My guitar in its case. Crammed with photos.
