This kooky troupe is riding high on the success of their sophomore effort 'Twenty One', now thought of as an established indie pop band rather than a group of odd ball prog musicians, The tours, radio plays and the good reviews have allowed them to build a momentum which they aim to maintain with the third single 'Half In Love With Elizabeth'.
This is without a doubt a catchy and almost shamelessly radio friendly tune. It has an addictive and instantly memorable chorus along with a bouncy and strutting rhythm which has surely worked to its strengths in a live setting. The lyrics may not be all positive, but these kind of sunny melodies have a very summery sound. It is a tad fluffy and lightweight when listened to on its own however, and works better in the context of a full length album setting.
