In both a good and bad way, within seconds of hearing Model Horror, one could be forgiven for feeling like they have heard them so may times before. 'Catch This Disease' smacks of Bloc Party in the truest sense, perhaps referencing their biggest influences more than the band themselves.
An upbeat number that is filled with pacey cymbals, enough stadium-esque epic guitar notes and believable, if potentially untruthful, lyrical moments to warrant a second listen. Although this may seem all very now, it would be hard to pigeon-hole them as a band who simply take trends and re-hash them.
After listening to 'Lead The Way', it becomes clear that there is more anger here than one would expect from riders of that wagon called band - although not that off-putting strange anger that your little cousin listens to. It's warmer and more real than that, perhaps better described as electro-grit.
Never wishing to confuse matters, this is not to say 'here be the future' or any similarly contrived statement, but simply that there is promise - certainly more than a fleeting listen will reveal.
