Kaiser Chiefs are to headline an anti-racism show in Rotherham next month.
The Love Music Hate Racism carnival will take place at Magna on 6th September, and has been organised by LMHR and Jon McClure from Reverend and the Makers, who are also on the bill. McClure said the event is a response to the British National Party winning two council seats in this year's local elections. He said: "You think how music has changed in the last 50 years and we would have none of that mixture of music and culture if the likes of the BNP had their way.
"People seem to be wanting to vote almost as a protest, but they don't want to get into the hands of the BNP. So we thought rather than do the event in Sheffield we would do it in Rotherham and say to these people 'We don't want you here, we don't want your fascist shit.'"
Joining Kaiser Chiefs will be Reverend And The Makers, The Courteeners, Roll Deep and Cabaret Voltaire. Tickets are £10 and are on sale now.
