Ida Maria may be from Norway, but if 'Queen Of The World' was released under the name of KT Tunstall no one would bat an eyelid - her voice is that similar. You could do much, much worse than Miss Tunstall though, and as if to second that opinion 'Queen Of The World' is a song that will grab the leg and refuse to fall off until the victim enjoys it at least a little bit.
It's certainly easier to enjoy it more than a little bit though, and in a musical environment where several female artists are trying to emulate a sound of a long-gone era (no names) or are just plain friggin' annoying (Kate Nash), Ida Maria's care-free and bubbly attitude makes for a nice change. Yes, it's unapologetically formulaic, but the energetic guitar is light and fun and Ida is perfectly capable of holding a note (even if it is difficult to remember what she was just singing about).
