We Are The Physics have been forced to cancel the opening nights of their UK tour after their drummer was hospitalised.
The Glasgow quartet were due to kick off their dates tonight (1st May) in Sheffield, but as the band explained in a MySpace statement they were forced to cancel: "Yous,
Our good friend and drummer Michaeldrum was unfortunately admitted to hospital earlier in the week and, as a result, we've had to cancel our gig in Sheffield tomorrow (1st May). Michaeldrum is doing well and he should be fit and well for the rest of the tour, otherwise he's getting battered off us.
Please send him your best wishes and healing hands!
We're really sorry to everyone who was coming to see us, and very sorry to the promoters at Fuzz Club who've always been dead nice to us. Hopefully we'll be able to reschedule this gig for a later date."
This afternoon, We Are The Physics posted an update on the situation, explaining that the dates on the 2nd and 3rd of May have been cancelled also, but that Michael was on the mend: "Luckily, due to all your metaphysical grapes and healing bolts, Michaeldrum is recovering well and we'll be back on ze road as of Monday 5th May in Oxford!"
