Interview: Blah Blah Blah
More on: Blah Blah Blah

London's Blah Blah Blah have found time in their relentless touring schedule to release their debut single.

'Death To The Indie Disco' was released on 7th April, through KIDS, and comes before the trio embark on their support slot with Lethal Bizzle. The once seen, never forgotten Blah Blah Blah have taken time out to shoot off some answers to our quickfire questions.

You are handpainting each of your vinyl singles - will any "lucky" fans be receiving unexpected etchings on their copies?
Of course. I think it's copy number 367 that is very special in particular. We did make one for our manager that had a penis drawn on the back. That's special.

Are you still giving away CDs at gigs, or has the upcoming single brought an end to that?
We are, but now we whore the release of our next single on them.

'Death To The Indie Disco' - do you really mean that? Don't hold back!
Somedays you will encounter snobbery of the highest form. It tends to be in indie clubs and I've not experienced that when I've been in metal clubs. There is a more abundant pre-occupation with fashion over the music in many of the indie clubs I've been subjected to.

Is it true you will never turn down a gig?
We're doing one tonight on our day off actually. We just got a phone call so we're setting off now.

After a couple of years of endless touring, are you ready to settle down in the studio?
I don't know about settle as we love playing live, but we're looking forward to making an album.

You've just announced dates with Lethal Bizzle - what are you looking forward to the most about life on the road with him?
Tea and biscuits and getting on first name terms so I can call him Lethal instead of Mr. Bizzle

Your live show is not one to forget, but are there any nights that will be scorched on your mind forever, for good or bad reasons?
I snapped my guitar in half by accident at Edinburgh festival last year. At the same time a member of the audience got on stage and ran at us with his genitalia hanging out. That gig stayed with us.

How does the songwriting work within the band?
It all depends on if we've enough money to eat that day. I'm used to going without food so I tend to summon up the most energy to finish the songs.

While I'm at it, how did the three of you come to form Blah Blah Blah?
By accident but we're learning to live with the consequences.
