Having lucked out on their previous album, The Kooks return with another radio friendly indie/pop single, which is sure to either anger or please the majority of the population.
'Always Where I Need To Be', is short, less than three minutes, but is possibly the longest short song ever written. Lacking in any ideas or direction, they simply use the fail safe method of adding a few 'doo doo dos' to turn what is a very mediocre single into a hit. Though in some ways, it would have been more painful if they had teamed up with Dizzee Rascal and added some electro beats to the jangly guitars on offer here.
Luke Pritchard and the boys stick to their guns, and they are certain to not unsettle The Kooks massive. For fans of alternative music that doesn't actually offer anything alternative.
