Short of getting Mark Ronson in on production duties and Dwayne from Nickelback to add a guitar solo, it's difficult to imagine how 'Find The Time' could be any blander. The quiet vocals and acoustic guitar of Get Cape's debut album 'The Chronicles Of A Bohemian Teenager' are still here but the Apple Mac beats have been replaced by MOR trumpets and xylophones, resulting in a comeback which makes Kevin Keegan's return to Newcastle look successful.
Even if the tune had sounded like LCD Soundsystem collaborating with Burial, it would be difficult to get excited about this song - the lyrics are trite in the extreme and make Sam Duckworth sound like the world's oldest and least interesting 22 year old. "Your light is beautiful, don't let the daydreams die" and "there's no point in waiting for a miracle to save your life" he sings, while holding his 'Banal Self-Help Lyrics For Beginners' handbook in one hand and his comfortable slippers in the other.
Surely there must be at least one song on Mr Cape Fly's second album which is better than this drab emo-lite nonsense. If there isn't, then Southend's favourite purveyor of folky fun had better buy some cymbals to strap between his legs as he's soon to be a one man band of the 'busking for spare change' rather than the 'selling out arenas' variety.
