Green Day are to start work on their new album early in the new year.
The band will head into the studio in January to begin recording the follow-up to 2004's 'American Idiot', with the trio claiming earlier this year they had 45 songs already written.
Green Day will also be updating their official site to step away from the 'American Idiot' theme, but the new site will not reflect what's in store for the new LP.
