From The Maccabees comes a change in direction - a brilliantly executed, stripped-down, strung-up change in direction.
The Brighton-based group have been relentless in touring their material, deservedly accumulating a wide-spread fan base. By now, this 'on-road-anthem' will be familiar to these fans, but initially it would have come as a bit of a surprise.
Whilst The Maccabees are known for being upbeat and attention grabbing, new single 'Toothpaste Kisses' gives us a rare chance to admire the vocal tones of Orlando Weeks and diversifies the group further. Romantic without nearing cheesy, and intricate and charming.
