Nine Black Alps are back on the music scene with the new single 'Bitter End', a melodic easy-listening tune ripe for a summer's evening or long road trip. A rather abrupt start to the song grabs you by the proverbial at first, but after the initial launch into vocals it's going to be hard not to find the song monotonous, with the overall sound of the single bearing more than a distinct resemblance to the likes of a Supergrass single.
The band are catchy, no surprise there, like most bands of their calibre are. The song itself isn't a crime against music, it's just not a diamond emerging from the dirt of other singles. Do Nine Black Alps have anything new and worthwhile for us in the future? Only the new album can tell.
The latest offering from this Manchester quartet is a little lacklustre and not up to their usual standard, however it still stands as a good single in its own right and gives an indication of promise to come in the new album 'Love/Hate'.
