Label: Matador
Release Date: 27/06/05
Rating:

The first single lifted from 'Antics' gets a re-release, but quite why this is so isn't immediately clear. Put it down to record company politics...
This certainly doesnt detract from the quality that lies beneath; it's classic Interpol and a perfect stereotype of their work to date. The individuality of the deep vocals and the punchy bassline sets 'Slow Hands' apart from pure indie pop, and mean it is instantly identifiable as their brand of darker 'goth' pop.
No it's not their best, but it delivers a good representation of the band to the single buying (and downloading) public looking for albums to jump on. Sales ploy or not it's a decent tune and an engrossing listen for potential new fans and seasoned ones alike.
