Imagine yourself at a picnic hosted by Royksopp, they introduce you to everyone and then you end up talking to Doves while they cover some forgotten Scandinavian guitar-pop b-sides. That image will point you in the direction of The Envy Corps' latest track 'Rhinemaidens'.
Despite hailing from Iowa, The Envy Corps sound feels quite European and quite a lot Scandinavian, with atmospheric backings to bounce-along guitar melodies. Lead singer Luke Pettipoole's voice strains perfectly over the top of the chiming and chugging guitar to form a head-bobbingly interesting track.
'Rhinemaidens' gives the impression The Envy Corps have further depth that would yield some gems if explored - get exploring!
