That bloke who sits in the same corner of the pub night after night, you know the one; he's always on his own, never speaking to anyone and hunched over the table as if fiercely protecting his bottle of light ale from the evil that is all around him. You've always been strangely drawn to this chap when there's a lull in the conversation, and you wonder what makes him tick, what stories he could tell of a world far outside your own imagining. One day you know that you'll be able to down enough Dutch courage to stumble over to his table and clumsily ask if you can join him for a half. One day, that moment arrives. 'Bathroom Gurgle' is the musical equivalent of what happens next.

With a Thomas Dolby synth-pop stutter he turns around sharply to reveal that he only has one real eye, the other being of the luminescent green-glass variety with which he seems to be able to stare into the very depths of your soul. Then he takes a swig of his beer and it all kicks off. He begins to shake violently, wibbling in a devilish falsetto, before springing to his feet and placing his thumbs in his belt-rings, jerking violently from side to side, backwards and forwards, performing the dance of the damned to a cocktail of Devo's 'Whip It' and M's 'Pop Muzik'. All this whilst also delivering a passable karaoke rendition of 'The Great Gig In The Sky' to boot. As the whole pub looks on in amusement, it suddenly dawns on you why it is that he always sits alone.

Sometimes, however, it pays to flirt with the unknown and though elements of this track will sound very familiar, electro-pop has never sounded this dangerous, this insane, nor, for that matter, this incredible.
