So the age old Editors vs Interpol debate rages on (sort of). Whilst Editors seem content to carry allowing themselves to be seen as the gloomy Coldplay, Interpol continue being the superior group.
'Mammoth', the second single from third-great-album-in-a-row 'Our Love To Admire' sees the New Yorkers on typically cryptic form. Paul Banks tells an unknown to "Spare me the suspense" whilst informing us that there are "seven ancient pawn shops along the way", and the meaning remains as obtuse as ever, like Mulholland Drive, or Lost.
Not that it's a problem, as 'Mammoth' sees Interpol on top form, with their winding riffs perfectly creating the gloomy, smoky, black and white atmosphere they inhabit.
