Comebacks, comebacks, comebacks! Take That, The Police and most recently The Spice Girls have all resurfaced for one last (maybe?) world tour and, to be very cynical and jaded, squeeze a little more cash out of their adoring public. Now, with a greatest hits album in tow, Garbage are back to once more purvey their toned-down early 90's Grrrrl rock.
Strings and reverberating piano, along with a hard drum line, provide a nod back to the Bond theme days of Garbage. Strangely, Shirley Manson's vocals sound more like that of Sharleen Spiteri's, therefore this sounds more like a Texas track than a Garbage track. Although this doesn't make it a bad song, it does seem rather lacklustre and not a patch on the Garbage of old.
Whilst the die-hard fans out there will probably lap this up, it's a fair bet the two of them will be on their own, as new fans may be hard to come by with releases like this.
