Although surprisingly not titled by the recurring rhetoric "how are things on the west coast", 'The Heinrich Maneuver' is a healthy and significant slice of American indie rock. With constant, but fair comparisons drawn with the likes of REM and Joy Division, it is a wonder how Interpol manage to avoid buckling under such pressure. However, this latest track is every bit as good as the material from their last album.
Meaty lyrics, on an upbeat, thumping backbone are exactly what we've come to know and love from Interpol and once again they deliver. To say that they are sitting untroubled in their comfort zone is a founded criticism, but why disturb a winning formula, when winning it is.
